Job Title: Production Operator I (Chemical Manufacturing)

Location: Ashland, VA
Shift: 2nd Shift
Pay Rate: $20.00 per hour
Position Overview

We are seeking a dependable and safety-focused Production Operator I to join a chemical manufacturing team in Ashland, VA. This role is responsible for producing, handling, and packaging chemical products while following strict safety, quality, and production standards. The ideal candidate has mechanical aptitude, can follow detailed instructions, and is comfortable working in an industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities

Chemical Production & Handling
  • Operate equipment used to blend, transfer, and process chemical products
  • Safely handle raw chemical materials following established procedures
  • Measure and add ingredients according to batch instructions
  • Monitor chemical processes and production equipment during operation
Batching & Documentation
  • Read and follow batch sheets and production formulas
  • Accurately record production data and complete batch documentation
  • Ensure proper labeling and product identification
Equipment Operation
  • Operate pumps, valves, mixers, and other production machinery
  • Perform basic equipment checks and assist with minor troubleshooting
  • Maintain clean and organized production areas
Material Handling
  • Move raw materials and finished products using forklifts or pallet jacks
  • Stage materials for production runs
  • Package and prepare products for shipment
Quality & Safety
  • Follow OSHA and company safety procedures
  • Use proper PPE and adhere to chemical handling guidelines
  • Work closely with Quality Control to ensure products meet specifications
Qualifications
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to learn production equipment
  • Ability to read and follow batch instructions and procedures
  • Comfortable working around chemicals in an industrial setting
  • Basic computer and data entry skills
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
  • Ability to work in a team-based production environment
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to work around chemical odors and industrial equipment
Pay Details: $20.00 per hour
