Essential Functions
Payroll processing and reconciliation (40%)
Prepare and audit complex biweekly payrolls, validate earnings, deductions, and taxes, and ensure timely and accurate pay delivery across jurisdictions.
Shareholder Services (10%)
Process shareholder transactions, including stock transfers, issuances, repurchases, option exercises, and redemptions.
Tax compliance and reporting support (10%)
Assist with multi-jurisdictional payroll tax filings, reconciliations, and year-end processing, including W-2s and T4s.
System maintenance and process enhancements (20%)
Support payroll system upgrades, testing, and troubleshooting. Identify improvement opportunities for workflows, controls, and reporting.
Reporting and analytics (10%)
Develop, maintain, and distribute payroll reports for finance, HR, and leadership. Ensure data accuracy and compliance with reporting standards.
Audit support and documentation (10%)
Prepare payroll audit documentation and support internal and external audit processes. Maintain accurate records of payroll actions and approvals.
Additional duties may be assigned as required by business necessity may be added, deleted, or changed at any time at the discretion of management, formally or informally, either verbally or in writing to meet organizational goals and priorities.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business required.
Experience: 4-6 years of payroll experience with multi-state and/or Canadian payrolls preferred. Experience with tax filings and year-end processing required.
Certification(s) and License(s): CPP designation preferred or in progress.
Leadership: N/A
Computer Skills: Strong Excel skills and familiarity with payroll systems required.
Other Requirements: Must have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to handle confidential information.
