Pharmacy Customer Service Representative

Job Description:

• Deliver exceptional customer service by creating a welcoming and engaging environment for customers.

• Efficiently process sales transactions at the register while providing friendly and courteous checkout service.

• Assist pharmacists under direct supervision in the practice of pharmacy while adhering to state and federal regulations. Utilize pharmacy systems to gather patient and medication information and accurately process prescriptions.

Customer Experience

• Greet customers and patients warmly, offering help with products and services. Address customer inquiries and resolve issues to ensure satisfaction.

• Promote best practices in customer service among team members to create a delightful shopping experience, emphasizing interpersonal skills such as greeting customers, maintaining eye contact, and displaying courtesy.

Operations

• Provide fast, friendly, and efficient service to customers.

• Recommend products to customers, including potential upsell or complementary items.

• Accurately register purchases using the cash register, handle cash transactions, process returns, refunds, and manage exchanges as needed.

• Maintain cleanliness and merchandising standards for counters and shelves, assist with inventory management, and ensure accurate product pricing as directed.

• Support pharmacy operations by accurately entering patient and drug information, assisting with prescription filling, and checking for medication accuracy and interactions.

• Report any prescription errors to the pharmacist immediately, following company policies and procedures for quality improvement.

• Assist with telephone calls that don’t require pharmacist attention, including interactions with physicians.

• Process manual claims for third-party prescription services accurately and efficiently, completing administrative tasks as directed by the Pharmacist.

• Assist in managing pharmacy inventory, including ordering and stocking pharmaceuticals. Follow company asset protection guidelines and file claims for discrepancies.

• Ensure compliance with relevant laws regarding the sale of regulated products.

• Create and maintain appealing displays for promotional and seasonal merchandise, completing resets as required.

• Assist in the proper separation and placement of food items following company policies.

• Maintain knowledge of store systems and equipment.

• Provide customer service in the photo area, including services like digital passport photos and promotional items.

• Monitor and fulfill web orders helping customers collect their items upon arrival.

• Maintain a clean and orderly store environment, contributing to effective exterior and interior maintenance.

• Adhere to all company policies and maintain respectful relationships with team members.

• Complete special assignments and assist with additional tasks as needed.

Training & Personal Development

• Obtain and maintain PTCB certification as required by state regulations.

• Engage in ongoing training and continuing education to stay updated on healthcare and pharmacy advancements.

• Strong math skills to accurately fill prescriptions.
