Day to Day Responsibilities:
- Responsible for leading design projects of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing and fire protection systems.
- Size and specify mechanical equipment, including duct work, air handling units, chillers, boilers, cooling towers, etc.
- Perform heating/cooling load calculations, site visits, surveys, reports and commissioning in support of mechanical design for commercial building, healthcare, educational and government facilities.
- Lead engineering team members in cross-functional setting and collaborate to ensure that the design is accurate and that contract responsibilities are met according to client's expectations.
- Review and interpret building codes, client specifications, as well as help improve and maintain current quality assurance processes.
- Coordinate with equipment vendors for selection and specification of appropriate equipment.
- Directly interface with clients and architects for engineering and design consultations.
- Travel to local project sites may be required; some overnight travel may be expected.
Education and/or Experience:
- BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with a Mechanical focus from ABET accredited college or university.
- 8+ years of experience working with an MEP engineering consultant in Mechanical/HVAC Building System Design.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit and Trane Trace software applications is required.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to meet project deadlines and provide outstanding service to clients.
- Ability to plan, organize and prioritize multiple projects.
- Ability to work in and foster a team environment with minimal supervision.
- Must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.
- P.E. license is required.
