Join Capital One as a Director of Cybersecurity Operations, where you will play a crucial role in safeguarding our customers and associates. In this role, you will lead comprehensive security efforts for strategic projects within one of our business lines. By collaborating closely with business, technology, and risk teams, you will work towards achieving time-sensitive objectives while embracing modern software and technology architectures.

We are seeking a pragmatic leader who excels at navigating complex problems in a fast-paced environment. As a key player, you will deliver product security advisory services and contribute to driving business value through risk-based initiatives. You will advocate for security, ensuring it enhances, rather than hinders, business objectives.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading end-to-end security for strategic initiatives such as mergers and acquisitions.
  • Integrating cybersecurity strategy with business objectives and managing risk for key initiatives.
  • Serving as the main liaison for technology executives regarding cybersecurity priorities.
  • Educating and influencing associates on security measures to mitigate risks effectively.
  • Providing expert guidance on information security risks and initiatives.
  • Regularly updating executive leadership on the security landscape and risk assessment.
  • Building relationships across risk management functions to foster a culture of innovation and security.
  • Staying abreast of changes in the regulatory landscape and their impact on our operations.

About you:

  • A proven leader with exceptional interpersonal skills, able to connect with diverse teams including executives.
  • Expertise in securing large-scale e-commerce platforms, with a strong focus on customer data protection.
  • A collaborative professional who thrives in fast-paced environments.
  • A deep passion for modern computing security, including familiarity with offensive and defensive security techniques.
  • Comfort with innovative technologies such as Generative AI, Cloud Services, and Zero Trust.
  • A commitment to continuous learning about emerging technologies and cybersecurity trends.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex risks in business terms.

Basic qualifications include a Bachelor's degree and at least 7 years of experience in Information Security, with 5 years in people management and cloud security. Preferred qualifications consist of a Master's degree or PhD in a relevant field, extensive experience in technology and cybersecurity risk, and industry-recognized certifications.

This role is located at Capital One's office and is essential for maintaining the security integrity of our operations.
