Description

Join our dynamic Defense Enclave Services (DES) team as a Lead Network Engineering Specialist. This is an exciting opportunity to leverage your extensive technical experience and leadership skills in executing the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) migration to the Department of Defense's Fourth Estate (DoD 4th Estate) agencies into a streamlined Common Use information technology (IT) infrastructure.

Your role will involve delivering Network Infrastructure services vital for the transition, encompassing network operations and management, engineering innovation, cybersecurity services, and technical refresh within a Single Service Provider (SSP) network environment serving all 4th Estate users.

Clearance Requirement: Must hold an active Secret security clearance prior to start and be able to obtain a Top Secret. (US Citizenship required)

Salary Range: The anticipated salary range is $160,000 to $180,000.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide Subject Matter Expertise in network design, integration, testing, security, and implementation of Network Services for DISA DoDNet.
  • Demonstrate expert knowledge in network engineering and operations, implementing large-scale enterprise network solutions, and overseeing test and evaluation activities.
  • Mentor and develop technical skills within the team.
  • Innovate solutions to define and improve compliance tracking, automation effectiveness, and standard operation procedures.
  • Analyze network bandwidth needs and recommend measures to address them.
  • Plan and execute network upgrades, collaborating with Delivery Operations Managers and key stakeholders.
  • Serve as a senior Tier III escalation support engineer during Incident Management.
  • Engage in Root Cause Analysis during Problem Management activities.

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS degree with 12 - 15 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with 10 - 13 years of relevant experience; Doctorate in a technical domain is a plus.
  • Possess advanced/vendor certifications such as Cisco, Juniper, Aruba, or Palo Alto.
  • Over 10 years of experience in network engineering and troubleshooting, specifically in routing and switching technologies like MPLS, VPNs, and various routing protocols.
  • Strong understanding of IP network addressing and subnetting.
  • Experience in communicating with senior management and stakeholders.
  • Experience in executing circuit cutovers in the DISA environment.
  • Familiarity with ITIL framework.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%, including some potential OCONUS travel.
  • Available to work off-hours as necessary for mission support.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CCIE certification (Enterprise or Routing/Switching) is strongly preferred.
  • Master's degree with 15+ years of experience.
  • Previous experience in engineering and operational services on DISA-supported networks.
  • Experience with Aruba ClearPass Policy Manager (CPPM).
  • NET/SEC DevOps experience is a plus.
  • ITIL v3/v4 certification or training.
  • Agile certifications or related experience.
