System Design Engineer

Client: CRITICAL RIVER | WSSC (Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission)
Rate: $60/Hr on W2
Longterm
Must be able to perform design of information systems, including the design of the application architecture, database, and interfaces. Responsible for gathering and analyzing user requirements and translating them into system designs including interacting with cross functional groups to ensure desired capabilities are reflected accurately in all relevant documentation. Develops software for new applications and enhances existing applications including analyzing application problem areas and proposing solutions. Reviews, develops requirements, generates designs and implements defined user interfaces based on technical specifications and provides rough order of magnitude estimates. Analyzes, designs, codes, tests, debugs, and documents all assigned components and conduct peer code review.
Qualification:
- A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or other related scientific or technical discipline.
- A Master's Degree is preferred. A Master's Degree in one of the above disciplines equals one year specialized and two years' general experience.
- Must have six (6) years of experience planning, designing, building, and implementing IT systems.
- Must be familiar with Capability Maturity Model compliant structured methodology.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and an ability to function well in a team. Ability to interact with both business and technical teams.
