As a Field Service Technician, you will play a crucial role in representing the Vantive brand in clinical and hospital environments. You will manage an assigned territory, traveling to perform installations, repairs, preventive maintenance, and training on various electro-mechanical medical devices. This hands-on position is ideal for those who thrive on solving technical challenges, enjoy customer interactions, and appreciate the variation that comes with fieldwork.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, calibrate, maintain, and repair a wide range of electro-mechanical medical equipment, ensuring compliance with service level agreements (SLAs) and safety standards.
  • Diagnose equipment failures and implement corrective actions through analytical and technical expertise.
  • Efficiently manage your service territory by scheduling calls and conducting preventive maintenance.
  • Document service activities, maintenance records, and inventory; ensure calibration of test equipment.
  • Order necessary parts for maintenance and manage inventory control.
  • Provide training to customers on equipment operation and maintenance procedures.
  • Communicate clearly with customers regarding service status and solutions to ensure satisfaction.
  • Act professionally, embodying our values of Care, Ownership, Trust, and Innovation in all interactions.
  • Mentor other technicians and contribute to departmental training and knowledge sharing.
  • Participate in installation projects and lead initiatives as needed.
  • Maintain proper handling of delicate components and adhere to health and safety policies.
  • Manage travel requirements effectively for technical support and training.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in biomedical engineering with a strong background in the installation, maintenance, and repair of medical devices.
  • Ability to diagnose complex equipment issues and work independently.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Capable of adhering to safety protocols in healthcare settings.
  • Able to meet the physical demands of the role, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Willing to travel 50-75% of the time, including overnight stays.
  • Valid driver's license required.

Education:

  • Associate's degree or higher in Biomedical Engineering or related technical field, or equivalent experience.
  • Certification in Biomedical Engineering Technology or similar qualification is a plus.
  • Prior field service experience is highly preferred.

At Vantive, we believe in equitable pay and transparency. The estimated base salary for this position is $60,000 - $75,000 annually, with actual pay based on location, skills, experience, and other relevant factors.
