This is work of a training nature involving the performance of social caseworker duties. As a County Social Casework Intern, you will participate in a structured six-month internship program and will be working in conjunction with a caseworker. You will learn how to apply relevant laws, regulations, and policies in order to help the children and families achieve an acceptable resolution. You will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with intake planning and assessments, case management, and various administrative tasks. Effective communication is a key aspect of this position as you will be required to establish and maintain working relationships with external agencies, staff, families, and children.

- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. On-call work after hours and weekends may be required.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Enrollment as a full time student in a bachelor's degree program in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, or other related behavioral science, and completion of 75 credits, including completion of 15 credits in one of the listed majors.
Other Requirements:
- PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
- Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
