Golang Engineer

Role Overview:
We're seeking a Golang Engineer to join our APA Loyalty Modernization team. This role is primarily focused on backend development using Golang, with an emphasis on building high-performance APIs and scalable services in a cloud-native environment. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver robust solutions that support our evolving loyalty platform.

Location: Phoenix, AZ- Hybrid (3 days onsite, Wed, Thurs, 3rd day is candidate's choice)

Team: APA Loyalty Modernization - Global Loyalty & Benefits Platform

Key Responsibilities:
• 4-6 years of professional experience with Golang (primary language), need someone who can handle things on their own and doesn't need their hand held too often.
• Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs using Golang
• Build scalable, cloud-native applications on Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Work with databases such as Bigtable, Spanner, Cassandra, and SQL
• Participate in code reviews and ensure high standards of code quality
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to gather requirements and deliver solutions
• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize existing Golang applications
• Support CI/CD pipeline setup and maintenance
• Create system design documentation and contribute to knowledge sharing
• Minimum Qualifications
• Strong understanding of backend service development and API design
• Experience with GCP and cloud-native application architecture
• Familiarity with Git, CI/CD tools, and shell scripting
• Solid understanding of microservices and data modeling
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in a global, collaborative team environment
• Preferred Qualifications
• Prior experience as an Application Engineer or similar role
• Experience with distributed databases such as Cassandra, Bigtable, and Spanner
• Knowledge of Unix/Linux environments and scripting principles
• Passion for learning new technologies and applying them to solve real-world problems
