Milestone / SMCI is seeking a Senior Technical Support Analyst to perform Windows system administration for laboratory-based computer systems that control laboratory instruments. You will collaborate closely with scientific teams to install, configure, test, maintain, and troubleshoot lab workstation hardware and software.

You will be responsible for upgrading lab IT systems from Windows 7 to Windows 10 and ensuring proper data management from instruments. Additionally, you will address general IT system issues as reported by lab scientists.

Typical Responsibilities Include:

  • Windows Upgrades: Configure and deploy Windows 10 laboratory systems using pre-defined lab images, working with scientists for functional testing and regulatory validation.
  • Lab Data Management: Configure software to automate the transfer of data from lab instruments to enterprise file shares.
  • Incident Resolution: Respond effectively to incidents and requests related to laboratory software and systems, managing user accounts and troubleshooting issues.
  • Documentation: Utilize ServiceNow to track service requests and maintain an updated inventory of client assets.

Other responsibilities may include:

  • Physically inventory lab computers and reconcile with the lab inventory system.
  • Support corporate deployments of antivirus and software patches to laboratory computers.
  • Collaborate with instrument vendors regarding system requirements and configurations.
  • Develop and maintain administration tools for the Enterprise Benchtop team using C#, ASP.NET, SQL, and IIS.

Required Experience:

  • 3-5 years of experience in Windows administration, preferably in life sciences or a regulated environment (GLP, GCP, GMP).
  • Proficiency in Windows Operating Systems (Windows 10, Windows Server).
  • PC and laptop hardware maintenance and software/hardware troubleshooting.
  • Networking skills related to TCP/IP, Windows Domains, and network configurations.
  • Excellent communication and customer relations skills.
  • Ability to work independently and see tasks through to completion.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to lift 40 lbs.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience in research laboratories and regulated settings.
  • Familiarity with LIMS, ELN, and Waters systems.
  • Knowledge of ITIL and ServiceNow.
  • Background working in GxP/GMP environments.
  • Experience with laboratory systems like HPLCs and mass spectrometers.
  • Scripting experience in PowerShell, Batch, or Python.

The estimated pay range for this position is USD $45.00/Hr - USD $50.00/Hr. Actual compensation will depend on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
