Position Summary:

As an Outpatient Physical Therapy Specialist, you'll deliver exceptional Physical Therapy services guided by medical prescriptions, in compliance with Hospital regulations, the State of Connecticut Practice Act, and our high-quality standards. You will also provide clinical oversight to Physical Therapist Assistants (PTAs).

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with patients to develop personalized care plans, addressing their safety, educational, psychological, and developmental needs.

  • Utilize assessment data to set and adjust realistic treatment goals, ensuring clear communication of plans and progress to patients and families.

  • Leverage your expertise in recommending an array of therapeutic procedures and modalities tailored to patient needs.

  • Adhere to professional and departmental documentation standards to maintain transparency and accountability.

  • Integrate a home exercise program into each patient’s treatment plan.

  • Manage a robust caseload while meeting departmental productivity benchmarks.

  • Engage in continuing education opportunities to enhance your skills and share knowledge with the team through scheduled educational programs.

  • Maintain open communication with Rehabilitation Supervisors, team members, and referring physicians to ensure comprehensive patient care.

  • Perform other job-related duties as required.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Physical Therapy.

  • Licensed or eligible for licensure to practice in the State of Connecticut.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with electronic medical charting.

  • 3-5 years of clinical experience.

  • Flexibility with scheduling.
