Job Description

IAT Insurance Group has an opening for a Cyber Security Intern within our IT Business Unit in our Raleigh, North Carolina location for the summer of 2026. This role supports the IAT Cybersecurity Team and provides the intern an opportunity to gain practical experience protecting and defending IAT assets. The anticipated start date for this internship is May 26th. Please note, IAT works on a hybrid schedule, working from the office Monday through Wednesday with the option of working remotely Thursday and Friday.

Responsibilities:

  • Analytical analysis of IAT vulnerability data,
  • Phishing and Social Engineering campaign development,
  • Ethical Hacking,
  • Security Threat Monitoring,
  • Identity and Access Management,
  • Cybersecurity Tabletop and War Gaming,
  • Cyber Strategy and Program Development,
  • Privacy and Data Protection
  • Perform other duties as needed.
Qualifications:

Must Have:
  • Must be an undergraduate student pursing a degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or Management Information Systems.
  • Ability to work out of our Raleigh, NC office without any housing or relocation assistance from IAT.
  • Desire to learn about cyber security.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • A track record of outstanding academic performance.
  • Eagerness to contribute to a team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment.
  • Excellent leadership, communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship by employer, now or in the future.
Preferred to Have:
  • Completed coursework or related work/internship experience in cybersecurity or Information Technology.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Understanding of social engineering concepts including phishing and marketing.
