Summary:
The Anesthesia Technician coordinates the equipment and supplies for the department. This position also assists in integrating surgical and anesthesia equipment to ensure effective and efficient operations.
Responsibilities:
* Verify equipment is functioning properly; ensure efficient arrangement of equipment and dispsable products to enhance work efficiency of licensed personnel.
* Coordinate the needs of anesthesia; assist with technical aspects of getting patients ready for general or regional anesthesia; assist with intravenous, intra-arterial and other monitoring catheters. May occassionally assist licensed personnel with non-invasive patient care as directed.
* Participate in rotation of coordinating personnel, i.e. during Team Leader's absence and/or when a call is received via pager, relays incoming assignment (e.g. room to be prepped) to the available Anesthesia Tech.
* Participate in new product evaluation at the direction of a team leader/manager.
* Assist with orienting new anesthesia technicians.
* Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
WORK EXPERIENCE
* At least 1 year job related experience Req
EDUCATION
* High school diploma or equivalent Req
* One year vocational or technical school or equivalent education/experience relating to anesthesia Pref
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
* Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers as required by CP 1.20 Life Support Course Requirements Req
* PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) 180 Days Pref
