Position Summary
As a PRN MRI Technologist, you will conduct high-quality MRI imaging procedures for our patients and medical staff, ensuring their comfort and safety in a clean and efficient environment.

Position Requirements

  • Formal Education / Training: Must be a graduate of an ARRT-approved program and registered or in progress for MRI subspecialty certification, or hold current ARMRIT certification. BLS certification is required within 90 days of hire.
  • Workplace Experience: Preference for at least one year of MRI experience in a hospital setting; however, we are open to training candidates.
  • Equipment and Skills Training: Basic computer skills and a focus on patient safety.
  • Physical Environment: Ability to operate a large field strength MRI magnet with an emphasis on safety procedures.
  • Physical Effort: Capable of multitasking, assisting patients, and performing physical duties such as lifting, bending, and communicating effectively.

Performance Standards
You will be expected to:

  1. Verify patient identification and physician orders for accuracy prior to imaging.
  2. Inquire about patient medical history, ensuring they understand the procedure.
  3. Ensure patient safety and comfort throughout the MRI process.
  4. Communicate effectively with patients during exams to enhance their experience.
  5. Identify and communicate opportunities for improving care quality.
  6. Maintain patient dignity during examinations and while transporting them.
  7. Be proactive in assisting with various tasks during busy periods.
  8. Demonstrate leadership and teamwork in challenging situations.
  9. Volunteer for additional hours and assist with completing scans during shifts.
  10. Monitor patient safety when transferring patients to and from equipment.
  11. Collaborate with colleagues to optimize equipment use.
  12. Facilitate urgent radiology reads when necessary.
