Emergency Medicine Physician Assistant Job Details

• Location: Everett, Pennsylvania (15537) - Pennsylvania healthcare jobs
• Facility: Stroke Certified Emergency Department
• Assignment Type: Locum Tenens Physician Assistant (Travel/Contract)
• Start Date: March 2, 2026
• End Date: June 1, 2026 (potential for ongoing assignment)
• Shifts: 12-hour rotating shifts (7a-7p, 12p-12a, 7p-7a)
• Shifts per Month: 6-12
• Hours per Week: Approximately 36
• On-Site Emergency Medicine Position

Physician Assistant Qualifications

• Active and unrestricted Physician Assistant license in Pennsylvania
• Minimum 1 year of clinical experience in an Emergency Department (ED) setting
• Current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications (AHA or Red Cross)
• Stroke Certification and current NIHSS (annual renewal required)
• Annual EMTALA education (provided)
• Willingness and ability to work night shifts as part of the rotation
• Must be local to Everett, PA or able to commute for shifts
• Physician Assistants only - Nurse Practitioners (NPs) not accepted for this emergency medicine job

Emergency Medicine PA Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality patient care to diverse emergency department cases, focusing on lower acuity patients
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and develop treatment plans
• Collaborate with emergency physicians, nurses, and clinical support staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Complete administrative tasks including radiology and blood work review
• Assist with triage and technical responsibilities as needed
• Maintain compliance with all facility, regulatory, and continuing medical education (CME) requirements
