Job Description
Join our team as a Diesel Mechanic, where you will manage and maintain a fleet of approximately 20 trucks and 60 trailers. This role involves performing essential maintenance tasks to ensure the safe and efficient operation of our vehicles.
Responsibilities
- Conduct DOT inspections on vehicles.
- Replace brakes, tires, and DPF filters.
- Perform suspension work as necessary.
- Engage in welding and fabrication work to repair flooring.
- Top off vehicle fluids as required.
- Proficiency in diesel mechanics.
- Ability to conduct DOT inspections.
- Expertise in performing preventive maintenance (PM) on brakes, oil, axles, lights, and flooring/walls.
- Skill in welding and fabrication.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience as a diesel mechanic.
- Previous experience in preventive maintenance on diesel equipment.
- Possession of personal tools up to 1/2 inch.
- Possession of a CDL A is beneficial.
- ASE certification is advantageous.

Work Environment
The position is based in a metal recycling facility where you may occasionally work in varying weather conditions. The standard workweek is 45 hours, with a preference for working until at least 5 PM. Uniforms and protective gear are provided.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $47840.00 - $58240.00/yr.
- Weekly pay with bonus structure on top of base pay
-- last years average was 15% on top of base - 4 factors going into this though: division, last months profitability, pounds shipped prior week, and safety
