Lab Engineer, Manufacturing Test Optimization, Amazon Leo

Export Control Requirement: Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

In this role, work with a team of engineers responsible for designing standardized test equipment used on the shop floor that can be built at scale as per the factory demands for contract manufacturing as well as Leo factory locations, optimizing provisioning and testing time by partnering with design engineering and software teams, partner with CM site representatives and provide recommendation for design for manufacturing. In this role you will work across the org with many software and hardware teams identifying requirements, prioritizing critical efforts and providing updates to senior management and stakeholders.

Key job responsibilities

- Design, implement and maintain test fixtures to verify software on embedded hardware, create and maintain documentation

- Troubleshoot hardware, software and networking issues

- Integration and test plan development closely working with systems engineering, software engineering, hardware engineering and RF integration teams

- Contribute to engineering efforts from design to implementation, solving complex technical challenges around production productivity and velocity

- Drive adoption of best practices in test hardware and software maintainability

- Contribute to standardization and process improvement activities.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 1+ years of consumer electronics lab environments experience

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent work experience

- Experience in software QA testing including writing test plans, use cases, and issue reports

- Experience in a consumer electronics lab environment

- Experience in a Linux or Unix environment

- Experience planning and maintaining lab facilities for optimal efficiency and creating new processes when necessary

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience configuring, deploying, and testing software updates, including the ability to identify issues and escalate to development as appropriate

- Experience running user trials, beta, field testing or collecting customer feedback

- Experience working with hardware and software teams for setting up, testing, and troubleshooting prototype devices

- Knowledge of tools and measurement devices (oscilloscope, frequency analyzer, or equivalent)

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $73,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $165,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
