Hardware Procurement Specialist

We are seeking a Hardware Procurement Specialist with experience in ordering network equipment, managing vendor relationships, and supporting hardware procurement processes. This role involves working closely with engineers, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure timely and accurate hardware delivery, while maintaining compliance with organizational standards and governance.
The ideal candidate will have strong networking knowledge, project management experience, and familiarity with procurement tools and processes.
Responsibilities:
- Review and process hardware orders, including Bill of Materials (BoM).
- Check spare inventory and manage hardware requests from engineers.
- Coordinate with vendors and OEMs to improve delivery timelines and resolve issues.
- Maintain accurate records of hardware orders and receipts.
- Provide weekly metrics and reporting on procurement activities.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure compliance with data governance and organizational procedures.
- Support project management activities related to hardware procurement and deployment.
- Act as a liaison between engineers, procurement teams, finance, and third-party suppliers.
- 4+ years of experience in business systems data or equivalent (work experience, training, military, or education).
- 2+ years of project management experience with proven ability to manage multiple priorities.
- 2+ years of vendor management experience, including working with third-party suppliers and analyzing procurement data.
- Experience ordering network hardware and working with major hardware suppliers.
- Networking knowledge, including routers and switches; CCNA and Cisco certifications are a plus.
- Familiarity with Fortinet hardware is a plus.
- Experience with procurement tools such as Jira and ServiceNow.
- Strong Excel skills for reporting and analysis.
- Effective communication skills to simplify complex topics for diverse audiences.
- Problem-solving skills with the ability to anticipate trends and incorporate them into planning.
