About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Facilities Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will manage and perform preventative maintenance and repairs across multiple buildings and facilities. You’ll handle service calls using a company vehicle and ensure all work meets high standards of safety and quality. This position offers variety, independence, and the opportunity to collaborate with a dedicated team.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on buildings and facilities.

• Respond to service calls across designated properties using a company vehicle.

• Work independently and as part of a team based on service schedules.

• Communicate effectively with customers and internal teams.

• Log work orders and service requests in a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMM) .

• Participate in an on-call rotation for weekend coverage every 4–6 weeks.

Essential Skills & Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and carpentry .

• Minimum 1 year of experience in facility or apartment maintenance.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.

• Strong troubleshooting skills.

• Valid Virginia driver’s license .

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

Preferred Skills

• HVAC experience (a plus, but not required).

• DIY handyman or home remodeling experience.

Work Environment

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hampton, VA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
