About Our Client

This company is a medical device startup in advanced prototyping stages expected to submit to the FDA within a year. The business's leadership has a strong track record and is looking to expand its technical team out of growth.

Job Description
  • Architect and oversee development of cardiovascular monitoring algorithms for technology in populations/patients
  • Drive innovation in physiology-based and ML-enhanced approaches for hemodynamic signal processing of multi-modal biosensor data
  • Maintain algorithm development infrastructure (version control, testing frameworks, design control documentation)
  • Develop and implement real-time algorithms optimized for cloud-based systems
  • Support FDA submissions, including participation in pre-subs and other FDA communication, document preparation, and obtaining biostatistics support as necessary
  • Build, mentor, and manage a team of 4-5 data scientists and algorithm engineers
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with hardware, software, clinical, quality and regulatory, and commercial teams

The Successful Applicant
  • Ph.D. in engineering (electrical, biomedical, mechanical), physics, computer science, or related discipline
  • 7+ years of experience in medical device algorithm development with focus on cardiovascular applications
  • 5+ years of leadership experience managing technical teams (3+ direct reports)
  • Proven track record of successful FDA 510(k) clearances for algorithmic medical devices or Software as a Medical Device (SaMD)
  • Experience with time-series analysis and digital signal processing of physiological signals
  • Experience with ECG, PPG, accelerometry, impedance, and/or other physiological signals
  • Advanced proficiency in scientific analysis software (e.g., Python and scientific stack) and statistical algorithm development
  • Machine learning (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn) with focus on physiological time-series data
  • Familiarity with Amazon Web Services (S3, EC2, and SageMaker)
