**Position Summary:
**The Mill Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining and repairing mechanical and electrical equipment in the mill. Work priorities are directed by the Maintenance Manager. This role ensures all equipment operates efficiently, safely, and reliably.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures and maintain a clean, safe work environment.
  • Troubleshoot system failures and perform testing of electrical systems.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance on mechanical and electrical devices.
  • Repair broken or faulty machine parts.
  • Perform maintenance and repair of mechanical and electrical systems, including PLCs, pneumatics, hydraulics, bearings, seals, gears, chains, sprockets, pipes, pumps, and gearboxes.
  • Execute proper lubrication of mechanical systems.
  • Provide support for emergency or unplanned mechanical repairs.
  • Troubleshoot basic to complex mechanical and electrical issues.
  • Record and submit accurate work order data and parts usage using the CMMS.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a mechanic and electrician.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Proficiency in reading equipment manuals, schematics, diagrams, and blueprints.
  • Ability to perform stick and TIG welding.
  • Ability to pull wire, splice wire, and connect electrical devices.
  • Skilled in using cutting tools such as plasma cutters and oxy-acetylene torches.
  • Experience operating forklifts and Bobcats.
  • Self-directed and able to work independently.
  • Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy loads.

Additional Requirements:

  • Safety-focused mindset with strict adherence to company procedures.
  • Ability to work on both planned maintenance and emergency repairs as needed.
