Ophthalmic Technician

Location: Palo Alto, CA

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Pay: $32-$37/hr. (DOE)

Type: Contract with potential for hire

Overview:

We're hiring an experienced Ophthalmic Technician to support a top-tier healthcare provider in Palo Alto. This is a full-time, weekday role in a collaborative clinical environment, working with pediatric patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform diagnostic testing (A/B Scan, autorefraction, visual acuity, corneal topography, etc.)

  • Conduct visual field tests (Goldmann & Humphrey)

  • Measure IOP using Tonopen and applanation tonometer

  • Assist with laser procedures (Argon & YAG)

  • Administer eye drops, medications, and eye irrigations

  • Accurately document patient data and test results

Requirements:

  • 2+ years ophthalmic or optometry tech experience

  • High School Diploma/GED

  • Current AHA BLS Certification

  • Proficiency with ophthalmic equipment and EMR systems

  • Strong communication and patient care skills

Preferred:

  • Experience with pediatric ophthalmology

  • COA, COT, or COMT certification (a plus)

Pay Details: $32.00 to $37.00 per hour
