Job Summary and Qualifications
We are seeking an Operating Room Nurse who embodies the values of our organization and is committed to providing exceptional care. In this role, you will contribute your expertise in either a circulating or scrub capacity, ensuring safe nursing care until the patient is transitioned to recovery.
What You Will Do in This Role:
- Prepare and organize the surgical instruments and equipment for your operating room, anticipating the needs of your surgeons.
- Effectively manage your operating room during surgical procedures as the circulator.
- Facilitate seamless transitions between surgeries.
- Utilize proper techniques in moving patients to and from stretchers and operating tables.
- Monitor patient care and administer medications, including support with anesthesia.
- Ensure all charts are complete and comply with documentation protocols before and after procedures.
Qualifications You Will Need:
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in an operating room setting, preferably at an ambulatory surgery center.
- Active RN license as required by state regulations.
- Valid BCLS Certification upon employment.
- ACLS certification as required by the facility.
- CNOR certification preferred.
Methodist Ambulatory Surgery Center - North Central is based in the Stone Oak area of San Antonio, handling over 600 procedures each month across various specialties including orthopedics, ophthalmology, ENT, and more.
