Key Responsibilities: Leadership & Vision: Lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive educational program that is aligned with district goals and meets the diverse needs of all students, with a strong emphasis on special education services. Student Support: Oversee the development and delivery of individualized education plans (IEPs), ensuring that students with disabilities receive appropriate support and services in accordance with state and federal regulations. Special Education Expertise: Provide guidance and oversight to special education staff, ensuring best practices in inclusive education are implemented effectively to meet the academic, social, and emotional needs of all learners. Curriculum & Instruction: Support the teaching staff in delivering high-quality instruction, with a focus on differentiated teaching strategies that cater to diverse learners. Staff Development: Foster a professional learning environment by providing regular training, feedback, and growth opportunities for staff to continuously improve teaching practices, especially in the area of special education. Community Engagement: Build strong relationships with parents, guardians, and community members, maintaining open lines of communication regarding student progress, school initiatives, and district developments. Safety & Well-Being: Ensure the safety, health, and well-being of all students, fostering a positive school climate and addressing any social or behavioral concerns promptly and effectively. Collaboration: Work closely with the School Committee, Superintendent, and other district leaders to ensure alignment with district-wide goals and initiatives.
