This Test Plan Developer/Team Lead role is ideal for an engineering professional with strong diagnostic, vehicle systems, or validation experience-especially those familiar with powertrain, electronics architecture, or OEM diagnostic platforms.

What You'll Do (Daily Tasks & Responsibilities)

  • Review JIRA epics to generate initial test lists and collaborate with feature owners to build comprehensive test plans for each release
  • Coordinate with Ford application engineers to develop, refine, and maintain test plans across the software development lifecycle
  • Organize validation planning and communicate progress with cross-functional teams
  • Participate in quarterly workshop planning and weekly vehicle program review meetings
  • Support on-vehicle validation in a garage setting using available test vehicles
  • Design, develop, implement, and validate diagnostic procedures and service functions
  • Create and edit OTX content for diagnostic service functions
  • Perform bench simulations and on-vehicle testing of diagnostic procedures
  • Analyze diagnostic tool data and respond to data concerns or requests
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues identified during validation or through technician feedback
  • Tailor service functions based on module nonconformances and defined KPIs

What You'll Bring (Requirements)

  • Engineering degree required
  • Experience with vehicle diagnostics, validation, or powertrain systems preferred
  • Software proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Experience viewing or editing XML files
  • Familiarity with Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS) strongly beneficial
  • Understanding of vehicle communication protocols (ISO14229, UDS, CAN)
  • Ability to interpret CAN diagnostic data
  • Knowledge of vehicle electronics architecture
  • Must be based in Southeast Michigan to support on-vehicle development, testing, and defect resolution

Hours & Pay

Schedule: Standard first shift hours (local to Southeast Michigan)

Pay Rate: $39.00 - $42.00 per hour, based on experience
