Job Title: RN - Telemetry Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: RN License required Certifications: ACLS NIH Stroke Scale Certification BLS Must-Have: ACLS (RN only) NIH (RN only) BLS (all) Description: Travel RN position on a telemetry unit. Unit has 24 beds with a mix of RN and Patient Care Technician staff. Night shift will have a charge nurse and 4-5 RNs on duty as well as 2 Patient Care Technicians. Patient ratios are typically 5:1. Unit features telemetry monitoring and post-operative monitoring. Electronic Medical Record system in use is Meditech. Candidates with cardiac/telemetry or surgical experience will be prioritized during the hiring process. Typical procedures include post-operative recovery for surgical patients and patients from catheterization labs. The unit culture promotes teamwork and collaboration among staff. The equipment includes ADA-compliant bariatric rooms with hoyer lifts. There is a variety of patient populations including elective orthopedic, spine, and gynecological surgeries. Also included are elective catheterization lab procedures and other medical conditions such as stroke, CIWA, chest pain, renal failure, and respiratory failure. The unit follows a modified self-scheduling process, allowing staff to arrange trades for schedule conflicts. Candidates should have a friendly and outgoing personality and be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
