OSP Designer/Engineer
Cyient Inc. currently has an opening for a remote based Outside Plant (OSP) Fielding Engineer, responsible for OSP Fiber, FTTT/ FTTx, Copper Overbuilds, and BAU work orders in the greater Erie, PA Region with service area throughout Western, PA.
Ideal candidates will be self-motivated, intelligent individuals with previous OSP engineering and Field data collection experience.
The ideal OSP Fielding Engineer will travel to the field to survey, confirm, and assess current field conditions and meet with the customer or third parties as they relate to ongoing OSP or In Building designs.
Candidate should have valid and clean driver's license, good communication skills. Daily workload involves multiple work locations daily and candidate must self-manage their workload and work schedule. Punctuality, flexibility to work ling days and/ or some overnight travel is required from time to time.
A company vehicle is an option.
Position Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; some college is a +
- Experience in the Telecommunications Outside plant engineering and/or construction industry beneficial
- Should have good understanding of basic computer concepts and technology. Experience with the following design programs: ICGS/IDDS and PRS is preferred.
- Should have solid abilities in use of mobile device/ handheld devices, basic to intermediate computer skills, the ability to use measuring devices and perform simple mathematical calculations.
- Should be proactive and a self-learner.
- Possess strong professional written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
- Intermediate analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to read, understand, interpret, input, and analyze data.
- Should have good attitude and ability to work independently and as a team member.
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks.
- Ability to communicate daily progress status to all reporting managers & stakeholders.
