Job Description: The Role

As the Director of Risk Management in Asset Oversight, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing operational risks within Fidelity Digital Asset Management and related businesses. Your responsibilities will encompass gathering critical industry, market, and internal data, developing innovative tools to quantify risks and trends, and evaluating their potential impacts on Asset Management, our clients, and associates. You will be instrumental in analyzing data and controls to pinpoint emerging and significant risks, conducting targeted data-driven risk assessments, and producing insightful risk management reports utilizing data visualization tools. This position is ideal for those who possess a demonstrated commitment to risk management and asset management, with academic or experiential backgrounds in relevant fields. Proficiency in SQL, programming, or data visualization skills will be advantageous. Exceptional communication, presentation, and writing skills are essential for success in this role. We are looking for a hard-working individual who is eager to learn and results-oriented.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring
  • A Bachelor's degree is required.

  • Over 12 years of relevant work experience within the financial industry.

  • Experience in Compliance, Risk, or Operations related to investment management, blockchain products, or related services.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to consolidate data from various sources.

  • Experience working with blockchain technology or within blockchain enterprises.

  • A solid understanding of blockchain technology.

  • Exceptional executive-level presentation skills.

  • Background in project management or consultative roles.

  • Familiarity with data analysis techniques and visualization tools (e.g., Tableau) is a plus.

  • Experience with common data science tools and languages is a plus.

  • CFA and/or FRM certifications are a plus.

  • A collaborative and interdisciplinary approach to teamwork.

  • Natural intellectual curiosity, initiative, and enthusiasm for acquiring new skills.

The Team

The Asset Management Risk team is an essential component of Fidelity's Risk Organization, working closely with Asset Management's Compliance Risk and Business Operations Group (CRBO) to identify and monitor risks that safeguard the interests of the firm, clients, and associates. The team's mission is to identify, analyze, aggregate, and report significant and emerging risks, aiding management in fortifying their controls and processes.

The base salary range for this position is $110,000 - $222,000 USD per year. Placement in this salary range will depend on job responsibilities, geographic location, candidate's relevant experience, and other factors.

Base salary comprises only part of the total compensation package. Depending on the role and eligibility, the compensation package may include bonuses or other variable components.
