Job Title: Lead Java Developer

Location: Onsite in New Jersey - 3 days a week-- Local candidates only

Duration: 6 months (with potential for extension)

Start Date: ASAP - quick interview process

Pay range: $60 - $68/hr.

About the Role
  • We are seeking a seasoned Lead Java Developer to join our technology delivery team, working on large-scale initiatives within the financial services domain. The ideal candidate will bring leadership skills, strong Java expertise, and hands-on experience with Graph databases. This role will involve guiding technical direction, mentoring developers, and ensuring delivery of high-quality, scalable solutions.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the design, development, and deployment of scalable API solutions using Java, Spring Boot, and AWS cloud.
  • Architect and implement solutions leveraging AWS-native databases, including DocumentDB and Neptune (GraphDB).
  • Define and enforce best practices around security, performance, and coding standards.
  • Drive adoption of modern architectural design patterns and engineering practices.
  • Provide mentorship and technical leadership to the development team.
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure delivery aligns with business objectives.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve critical production issues with a strategic, hands-on approach.
  • Lead knowledge-sharing initiatives and promote an engineering culture of excellence.


Must-Have Skills
  • 8+ years of experience as a Lead Java Developer.
  • Strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, APIs, and microservices architecture.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS cloud solutions and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Proven success working with Graph databases (preferably AWS Neptune).
  • Demonstrated team leadership and mentoring capabilities.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and excellent communication abilities.


Preferred Skills
  • Previous experience in financial services or insurance industries.
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Knowledge of cloud-native security practices.
  • Experience leading Agile development efforts.
