General Responsibilities:
The Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) Instructor is responsible for providing high-quality instruction and hands-on training to students preparing for national certification and entry-level employment in healthcare. The instructor ensures that course content aligns with industry standards, certification competencies, and institutional policies.

Examples of Duties

Job Functions:

  • Deliver engaging classroom and lab instruction based on established CCMA curriculum and national standards (e.g., NHA).
  • Demonstrate and supervise clinical procedures including vital signs, phlebotomy, EKG, specimen collection, and patient care techniques.
  • Evaluate student performance through tests, skills check-offs, and practical assessments.
  • Maintain accurate attendance, grading, and student progress records.
  • Ensure compliance with institutional policies, OSHA, and HIPAA requirements.
  • Provide constructive feedback and mentorship to support student success and employability.
  • Maintain current knowledge of healthcare trends and instructional best practices.
Typical Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:
  • Current national certification as a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) or equivalent (NHA, NCCT, AAMA, or AMT).
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in an ambulatory or outpatient healthcare setting.
  • Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to student success and workforce readiness.
Preferred Requirements:

  • Prior teaching or training experience preferred.

Anticipated Work Hours:

Part-time, with flexible hours that may include daytime or evening classes based on program needs.
