Sign-On Bonuses:

Join our outstanding OR TEAM at Aurora St. Luke's Medical Center, the largest hospital in Wisconsin, with a dedicated 24/7 on-site heart-care team providing innovative care at a national level.

Schedule/Hours:

Full-time evening shift, with 8 or 10-hour shifts available, Monday to Friday, with on-call responsibility primarily overnight (5-8 call slots) and 1-2 weekend call slots over an 8-week scheduling window. On-call hours may vary depending on staffing needs, requiring arrival within 30 minutes.

Major Responsibilities:

• Ensure a clean, safe, and effective environment to support optimal patient care with aseptic surgical techniques during preparation.
• Assist with various surgical procedures, maintaining knowledge of multiple types of operations.
• Oversee room sterilization and readiness for each surgical case, including equipment management.
• Act as a Second Assistant as needed during surgical procedures.
• Alert appropriate staff to any equipment or supply issues.
• Transport patients, equipment, and supplies as required.
• Maintain specialty carts, ensuring all items are complete and in good working condition.
• Demonstrate knowledge of age-specific care needs and how to address them effectively.

Licensure, Registration, and Certification Required:

• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification within six months unless determined unnecessary by the department leader.

Education Required:

• Completion of an accredited program in Surgical Technology.

Experience Required:

• No prior experience needed.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

• Familiarity with aseptic surgical techniques and operating room equipment.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer proficiency.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

• Ability to thrive in a high-stress, fast-paced environment.
• Physical demands include lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling loads, and transferring patients using proper techniques.
• Exposure to potential hazards such as mechanical, electrical, and bodily fluids.
• Required to wear protective gear (masks, gloves, goggles, gowns) and to stand, walk, and bend frequently throughout shifts.
