Orthopedic Technologist - Temp-to-Hire (Days)
Position Summary

The Orthopedic Technologist supports orthopedic providers by assisting with patient care, casting, splinting, brace application, and orthopedic device management. This includes patient intake, rooming, documentation, and clinical support to maintain efficient clinic operations. The technologist prepares rooms, assists during procedures, manages supplies, and ensures accurate documentation and chart preparation.

This is a temp-to-hire role with the expectation of converting to full-time employment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist orthopedic physicians and PAs with procedures, anticipating needs and preparing appropriate supplies.
  • Apply and remove casts, splints, braces, and other orthopedic devices for patients of all ages.
  • Provide care and maintenance for casts, splints, and external fixators.
  • Perform patient intake, obtain history, room patients, and support documentation.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and properly stocked treatment rooms and exam areas.
  • Support room turnover, supply stocking, and daily clinic readiness.
  • Remove sutures or staples, change dressings, and schedule tests as directed.
  • Answer phone messages and return patient calls within the same business day.
  • Log notes, medication refill requests, and documentation in patient charts.
  • Assist with patient flow and clinic throughput.
  • Prepare charts for clinic and surgery; gather consents, orders, and chart materials.
  • Scan records and process DME applications when needed.
  • Stay current with orthopedic techniques and equipment through continuing education.
  • Perform additional duties within scope as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Orthopedic Technologist Certification required.
  • Current BLS (AHA) certification.
  • Effective communication and professional interaction skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time efficiently, and maintain attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with computers, scanners, and general office/clinical equipment.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Prior orthopedic clinic experience preferred.
Shift Details
  • Day shift, Monday through Friday.
  • Weekends and holidays off.
  • Temp-to-hire position - expected to convert to full-time.
  • California-based assignment.
