Crisis Line Specialist

Coleman Health Services is a nationally recognized not-for-profit provider of behavioral health and rehabilitation programs to foster recovery, build independence, and change destinies for individuals, families, and businesses in our community. We are seeking 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Shift Crisis Line Specialists for our facility in Canton, Ohio. Please note, this is an in-office position, not hybrid or remote.

Schedule: Must be willing to work at least one weekend shift (Saturday or Sunday) per week

Pay Range: $21.00 - $24.00 per hour depending on combined education and experience

Duties Include:

  • Provide crisis intervention, support, information, and referral by phone and/or face-to-face.
  • Serve as point person for community constituencies as needed.
  • Demonstrate sensitivity, empathy, objectivity, professionalism, effective customer service skills, and sound clinical judgement in the course of all work.
  • Complete telephone screening and triage to determine the needs and desires of consumers.
  • Build and maintain community relationships with personnel at community agencies, State behavioral health organizations, and local hospitals with behavioral health units.
  • Provide crisis intervention via phone for the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline.
  • Respond to the Crisis Text Line when assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma
  • Three years of experience with mental health services
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in behavioral health related field
  • Certification or similar credentials in crisis intervention, de-escalation, or mediation
  • Completion of advanced CIT Training at state or national level.
