Business Development Industry Specialist

The Business Development Industry Specialist supports strategic marketing and business development initiatives across designated industry groups. This role works closely with industry leaders, practice partners, and the broader marketing and business development team to enhance the firm's visibility, strengthen client relationships, and advance industry-focused growth initiatives. The Specialist will contribute to cross-practice projects, thought leadership activities, client development programs, and integrated marketing efforts. Three positions are available, each aligned to select industry sectors.
Industry group assignments include:
- Life Sciences & Defense/National Security
- Consumer Products & Technology/Media
- Financial Services & Energy
Industry & Client Development Support
- Collaborate with Industry Group partner leaders and business development leads to implement marketing and client development strategies.
- Develop deep knowledge of assigned industries, including client business landscapes, market trends, and competitive positioning.
- Support the execution and tracking of industry business plans and cross-practice initiatives.
- Evaluate industry conference opportunities and manage logistics for sponsorships, speaking engagements, and event participation.
- Coordinate firm-hosted events in partnership with the Events team, including onsite support when necessary.
- Support cross-practice preferred provider proposals in collaboration with the proposal team.
- Draft and coordinate industry-focused submissions and rankings for directories such as Chambers and The Legal 500.
- Partner with the marketing team to identify opportunities for integrated campaigns, including digital content and targeted social media efforts.
- Prepare and maintain industry-facing marketing materials, including brochures, presentations, experience lists, attorney biographies, and web content.
- Oversee editing and production of industry newsletters or internal/external communications.
- Contribute to the development of pitch materials and related business development tools.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members as needed.
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in marketing, business development, or client relations, preferably within a professional services environment.
- Experience in legal marketing is preferred.
- Industry knowledge in one or more of the following areas is desirable: Life Sciences, Defense & National Security, Consumer Products, Technology & Media, Financial Services, or Energy.
- Strong understanding of business development processes; familiarity with proposal processes is preferred.
- Excellent project management abilities with the capacity to manage shifting priorities and deadlines.
- High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Experience with proprietary marketing databases (such as Foundation, InterAction, or Intapp DealCloud) is a plus.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively across all organizational levels.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $82,000 to $110,000, depending on experience, education, certifications, location, and overall qualifications.
