Job Summary
The HOA Corporate Accountant plays a critical role in ensuring the financial integrity, transparency, and operational excellence of the firm. The HOA Corporate Accountant supports the accounting function across multiple homeowner's associations (HOAs) while maintaining strong internal controls, compliance, and accurate financial reporting.
Job duties
- Prepare, review, and maintain accurate financial statements for corporate entities and assigned HOA portfolios, ensuring compliance with GAAP and internal policies.
- Manage general ledger activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end and year-end close processes.
- Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring timely processing, accuracy, and adherence to approval protocols.
- Support budget preparation, variance analysis, and forecasting for corporate operations and HOA clients.
- Coordinate with property managers, board members, and external stakeholders to address financial questions and provide clear, actionable insights.
- Assist with audits, tax filings, and regulatory reporting by preparing schedules, documentation, and responding to inquiries.
- Monitor internal controls and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency, scalability, and risk management.
- Leverage accounting systems and technology to streamline workflows and support data-driven decision-making.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; CPA or progress toward certification is a plus.
- 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably within property management, real estate, or an HOA environment.
- Strong working knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
- Proficiency with accounting software and advanced Excel skills; experience with HOA-specific platforms is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities with accuracy and sound judgment.
