Description

The University of Chicago's Department of Pediatrics, Section of Allergy, Immunology and Pediatric Pulmonology, is searching for full-time faculty members at any rank. Appointees will serve as Pediatric and Adult Allergy/Immunology physicians and will lead our Primary Immunodeficiency Program and focus on the clinical activity of both children and adults in ambulatory locations affiliated with the University of Chicago Medical Center, Comer Children's Hospital, and our partnership with Advocate Children's Hospital. Appointees will work with the members of the Hematology/Oncology service line to manage the significant immunodeficiency population across the combined partnership enterprise. In addition, they will develop an academic niche that builds on our faculty expertise in basic and translational immunology, host defense, novel therapies or other areas that relate to the mission of the Department of Pediatrics. Appointees will be collaborative physician leaders positioned to succeed in a busy, dynamic environment and advance the clinical, educational and scholarly goals of the Section of Allergy, Immunology & Pediatric Pulmonology. Other duties will include teaching and supervision of trainees and students. Academic rank and compensation (including a generous package of fringe benefits) are dependent upon qualifications.

The University of Chicago Comer Children's Hospital is a 165-bed facility with state-of-the-art technology and amenities that offer world-class medical care to children from around the Chicagoland area and across the globe. The University of Chicago Department of Pediatrics has recently formed the Advocate NorthShore Pediatric Partnership for Hematology/Oncology and Cardiology service lines. Together, this partnership cares for approximately one million children across three states.

Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants must: 1) have a medical doctorate or equivalent, 2) hold or be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Illinois, 3) have completed an ACGME-accredited Allergy/Immunology training program, and 4) be Board certified or Board eligible in Allergy/Immunology.

We especially welcome applicants with experience as a clinical educator and/or conducting research in the field of Allergy/Immunology.
