Join our dynamic and diverse organization as a Field Engineering Specialist. You will play a crucial role in facilitating collaboration with various electric utility disciplines, performing vital field inspections, and engaging in engineering design work and calculations. This position requires effective coordination with permit agencies, right-of-way specialists, system owners, field leaders, and third-party owners for shared infrastructure.
Your responsibilities will include providing engineering support during construction phases, ensuring all engineering and construction standards are met through thorough post-construction reviews. You will also be tasked with conducting root cause analyses of outages and implementing engineering principles for effective mitigation. Your work will align with technical design and Client standards, maintaining quality and timely delivery of design documents.
Location: Candidates should be within a commutable range to the Pittsburg/Western PA region. Travel to customer sites across Western PA will be required.
Primary Responsibilities
Evaluate work provided by Clients and assess scope requirements.
Offer engineering support during construction and ensure compliance with applicable engineering standards through post-construction reviews.
Conduct comprehensive root cause analyses of outages, applying engineering principles in the mitigation process.
Travel to sites as necessary for inspections and perform engineering design work upon returning to the office.
What You Bring to the Table:
Level 1: A high school diploma or equivalent is required along with 6+ months of relevant experience.
Level 2: A high school diploma or equivalent is required, with 1+ years of relevant experience; an Associate's Degree or higher in engineering technology or a related field is preferred.
Physical ability to walk at least one mile and handle fieldwork activities, including swinging a 3lb hammer.
A strong willingness to engage in both fieldwork and office-based tasks.
Capability to work effectively in both collaborative and independent settings, organizing tasks to meet deadlines.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preparedness to work outdoors as fieldwork may be required.
Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).

This position offers multiple opportunities based on experience, with compensation aligned accordingly.
Pay Range: $35,100.00 - $63,450.00
