Med/Surg RN Job Details

• Position Type: Travel Registered Nurse (RN)

• Shift: 12-hour night shifts (3 shifts/week)
• Weekly Hours: 36
• Start Date: December 1, 2025
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1680-$1800

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (North Carolina or compact state)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification required before first shift
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) Certification required before first shift
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg nursing experience (2+ years preferred)
• Strong clinical, communication, and teamwork skills

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments for all patients within 8 hours of admission
• Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
• Accurately document patient assessments, interventions, and responses in the electronic medical record
• Participate in patient rehabilitation programs and discharge planning from the time of admission
• Communicate changes in patient status promptly to healthcare providers to ensure safety and continuity of care
• Supervise and mentor Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and new staff/orientees
• Promote patient and staff safety by following hospital policies and clinical safety procedures
• Foster a positive team environment and participate in unit-based team-building activities
• Assume charge nurse responsibilities as needed after orientation
• Engage in ongoing professional development and continuing nursing education
