The Team:

The Machine Learning Research Group is seeking exceptional AI and ML research interns. We are dedicated to advancing scientific knowledge with real-world applications. You will collaborate with a dynamic research team that publishes in leading machine learning and artificial intelligence venues. Our areas of expertise cover recommender systems, content moderation, foundation models, privacy-preserving technology, probabilistic programming, and AI agents. Your work will be crucial in driving meaningful progress.

Responsibilities

What you'll be doing:

  • Create innovative datasets that challenge current AI and ML capabilities.

  • Research, design, and implement cutting-edge methodologies.

  • Contribute to groundbreaking research with the potential for publications and conference presentations.

  • Collaborate effectively with team members and across various teams.

  • Transition technology innovations to product teams.

  • Engage and collaborate with external researchers.

What You'll Bring:

To be considered for this Research Intern position, you must meet the following essential qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Recommender Systems, Content Moderation, Natural Language Processing, Speech Processing, Computer Vision, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field, and plan to return to your program after the internship.

  • Research or work experience in relevant fields such as Recommender Systems, Content Moderation, Natural Language Processing, Speech Processing, Computer Vision, Machine Learning, or Artificial Intelligence.

  • Strong programming skills in Python along with hands-on experience using common machine learning frameworks, such as PyTorch.

  • A proven track record of research and publications.

  • Exceptional communication skills.

  • Must reside and/or attend university in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A minimum GPA of 3.0.
