We're searching for a Firmware Engineer to join Aurora's Embedded Firmware team. The Firmware Team is responsible for following topics:
  • Board bring up
  • Writing/Customizing RTOS/Linux
  • Bootloaders and SW updates
  • Safety FW
  • Security FW
  • Manufacturing FW
  • Application software development
In this role, you will
  • Architect and implement software on ECUs running Linux
  • Help architect interfaces between various networking components
  • Help define and implement safety and security requirements
  • Support hardware engineers with PCB bring up, debugging and testing
  • Model exemplary software development practices
Required Qualifications
  • 3-10 years of experience
  • Good understanding of C and C++
  • Familiarity with Linux kernel and drivers
  • Understanding of at least one embedded Linux distribution (i.e. Yocto or Buildroot)
  • Good understanding of Ethernet, IP, and higher levels of networking
  • Hardware-based ethernet packet processors (VLANs, Filtering engines, TCAMs, etc.)
  • Deep familiarity with features of at least one network switching ASICs is a must (Broadcom, Marvell, or Microchip switches preferred).
  • Basic knowledge of electrical engineering fundamentals to support low level debugging

  • RTOS
  • Safety + Security Concepts
  • Product development and manufacturing support
  • Architecture

The base salary range for this position is $139,000-$223,000 per year. Aurora's pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, the successful candidate's starting base pay will be determined based on factors including job-related skills, experience, qualifications, relevant education or training, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future. The successful candidate will also be eligible for an annual bonus, equity compensation, and benefits.
