Position Description:
Under the supervision of the Transportation Supervisor, the incumbent is responsible for transporting residents in a safe, responsible manner to scheduled appointments and other activities. The role involves assisting residents on and off transportation vehicles, aiding with assistive devices, and monitoring and supporting residents when away from the facility. This position is scheduled primarily part time Monday-Friday, with most hours worked in the mornings

Essential Functions:
  • Drive community vehicles to transport residents to appointments and activities, assisting residents with boarding, disembarking, and using assistive devices.
  • Report hazardous conditions, equipment issues, accidents, and incidents promptly; maintain required travel logs and conduct pre-trip vehicle inspections.
  • Assist with activities and attend meetings and training sessions as required.
  • Perform duties as assigned by authorized personnel or in emergency situations, including assisting in resident evacuations.
  • Maintain positive relationships with residents, ensuring their satisfaction and needs are consistently met.
  • Demonstrate understanding of technical aspects of the position and appropriate resident relations to enhance the resident experience.
  • Adhere to The Village's dress code, maintaining a professional appearance at all times.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
  • Perform other duties as requested or assigned by Village management.
Skills, Knowledge, Certifications, and Licensing:
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions in various formats.
  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record required.
  • CDL license with a Class P endorsement preferred, but not required.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and listening).
  • Positive attitude toward customer satisfaction and teamwork.
  • Understanding and appreciation for senior living residents and their lifestyle.
