Insider Threat Security Engineer

Summary:
Join our dynamic Insider Trust team at Meta Security dedicated to combating insider threats aimed at protecting our valuable data. We are on a mission to proactively detect, investigate, and address insider threats, covering a diverse range of abuse cases such as user data misuse, intellectual property theft, and sensitive information leaks. We are looking for a seasoned Security Engineer to enhance our investigative efforts, leverage internal signals, and automate processes to combat malicious activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough analysis and engage in threat hunting using various log sources, including host and network traffic logs, to uncover potential insider threats.
- Design and implement workflows and automations to optimize signal detection, threat hunting, and investigative workflows.
- Collaborate closely with software and production engineering teams to create scalable and flexible solutions for insider threat investigations.
- Identify and address infrastructure gaps, enhancing visibility through logging and automation efforts with cross-functional partners.
- Develop operational workflows that auto-resolve false positives and provide contextual insights to scale investigation capabilities.
- Prioritize initiatives to amplify impact through improved visibility, process automation, and enhanced investigative capabilities.
- Guide and mentor team members, fostering a culture of professional development and job satisfaction.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant field.
- 5+ years of experience in Detection & Response Engineering, Insider Threat, or similar Security Engineering roles.
- Strong expertise in conducting security investigations, including response, forensics, and large-scale log analysis.
- Knowledge of attacker tactics, techniques, and procedures is essential.
- Proficient in programming or scripting with experience in general-purpose programming languages.
Compensation:
$147,000/year to $208,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
