Walpole, Inc. is seeking a dedicated full-time Diesel Mechanic for our terminal located in Tampa, FL. This role will involve a variety of responsibilities, including diagnosing and repairing vehicle and equipment issues, ensuring that our fleet operates efficiently and safely. As part of our team, you will communicate effectively with drivers, team members, and supervisors to maintain high standards of vehicle maintenance.

Key Experience Areas:

  • Diagnosing diesel engine and after-treatment issues
  • Handling outer end components like brakes, bearings, and seals
  • Electrical troubleshooting expertise
  • HVAC system repairs
  • Air brake repair knowledge

Main Responsibilities Include:

  • Selecting appropriate repair strategies
  • Evaluating finished work and seeking supervisor approval as needed
  • Removing, cleaning, repairing, reinstalling, and adjusting vehicle components
  • Diagnosing comprehensive vehicle and equipment issues
  • Completing work orders precisely
  • Performing emergency services and road calls
  • Participating in safety and educational training regularly
  • Safely moving vehicles between job and work areas
  • Maintaining professionalism in communication with drivers and team members

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • A minimum of 3 years in vehicle/equipment maintenance
  • Possession of an appropriate toolset
  • ASE/EVT certifications preferred but not mandatory
  • Valid driver's license; Class A CDL preferred but not required
