Compliance Specialist

Soni Resources is partnering with a client near Dayton, NJ, on the search for a Compliance Specialist.
The Compliance Specialist supports the company's mission by ensuring partner agencies and internal programs meet all federal, state, and company compliance standards. This role focuses on partner monitoring, food safety oversight, and accurate documentation for government-supported programs. The position helps maintain program integrity, strengthen partner relationships, and ensure safe, equitable food distribution.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct scheduled on-site and virtual compliance monitoring for partner agencies participating in company programs and initiatives.
- Ensure adherence to USDA regulations, network standards, food safety guidelines, civil rights requirements, and company policies.
- Document monitoring results, issue corrective actions, and follow up to ensure timely resolution.
- Maintain accurate compliance records, agency status updates, and trend reporting.
- Support partner capacity-building by sharing best practices and providing constructive feedback.
- Assist with developing and updating training materials, guidance documents, and compliance resources.
- Prepare compliance reports for internal leadership, funders, and government agencies.
- Maintain organized digital and physical compliance files, including site visit reports and renewal documentation.
- Serve as a resource to partner agencies regarding program requirements and operational standards.
- Support onboarding of new partner agencies through site assessments and compliance readiness reviews.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure consistent program execution and continuous improvement of compliance processes.
Qualifications:
- 1-3 years of experience in compliance, community programs, or nonprofit operations
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to interpret and apply regulations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Customer-focused approach with the ability to communicate expectations clearly and professionally.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and database systems.
- SharePoint being a plus.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout New Jersey for site visits.
Compensation: $24 - $28/ Hr
Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications.
