What You Can Expect In This Role

Responsible for advancing Sammons Financial Group's competitive intelligence capabilities through the maintenance, development, and enhancement of technology-driven tools and processes. Ensure reporting is accurate, efficient, and scalable by leveraging automation and appropriate data sources. Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure deliverables support decision-making and highlight product positioning.
What You'll Do In This Role
• Apply advanced Excel skills-including complex formulas, data validation, Visual Basic for Applications (VBA), and de-bugging to build, maintain, and enhance tools leveraging automation to support accurate and efficient reporting.
• Conduct weekly benchmarking of annuity product rates by distribution channel, ensuring reporting is delivered timely and accurately.
• Prepare and submit monthly and quarterly industry sales data to external partners, ensuring accuracy and adherence to required timelines.
• Analyze quarterly industry sales results to calculate market share, assess growth trends, and compare the performance of key competitors.
• Assess product rate and positioning changes and communicate key insights for internal stakeholders.
• Collaborate with internal partners to prepare competitive intelligence deliverables for senior leadership.
• Document tools, data processes, and workflows to support consistency, transparency, and effective handoffs within the team.
• Participate in industry study groups, effectively communicate relevant information, and share notable insights with the team as needed.
• Provide support for internal partners, including but not limited to Sales, Product, and Business Development, on competitive intelligence requests in developing new ways of evaluating product positioning that inform business decisions.
• Takes on additional responsibilities as needed to support evolving business and team priorities.
• Have broad understanding of industry and product knowledge while staying informed on new product features and innovations.
• Develop strong knowledge of Sammons' products, distribution channels, and company practices.
• Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Plan and prioritize work in accordance with broader team or department objectives and priorities. Complete projects on time with high standards and accuracy.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's Degree Data Science/Analytics, Statistics, Business, or related field Preferred
  • Minimum 3 years' professional experience with annuity or financial services experience Preferred
  • Strong analytical and mathematical abilities with excellent attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated technical proficiency, including Visual Basic, macros, Excel, SQL, and Microsoft Office tools
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage and deliver results across concurrent projects
  • Effective working both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Natural curiosity with strong problem-solving skills
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-changing environment
  • Self-motivated and able to work effectively under deadline pressures
  • Up to 5% travel may be required

Salary Range Information

USD $60,119.00 - USD $125,247.00 /Yr. Range includes data points from multiple labor markets. Specific range is dependent on the labor market where the incumbent will be hired to perform the position. Starting salary is dependent on candidate qualifications and experience. For a narrower salary range specific to your labor market, please inquire.
