Event Liaison

Under general direction of the Account Manager, the Event Liaison will coordinate the work flow and assignment of Cal Expo Events personnel, including security, parking attendants, ticket sellers and takers, stagehands, and janitorial staff; dispatch maintenance personnel as needed under the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor. Incumbent is responsible for ensuring the facility is opened, prepared, and properly closed for each event. During events, act as the primary point of contact between Cal Expo and the show promoter, maintaining continuous communication throughout their shift to address and fulfill event needs; assist in handling and resolving complaints from promoters and the public in a professional and timely manner, and ensure compliance with all facility rules, fire, safety, and security regulations for the entire duration of the event.
Incumbent is responsible for monitoring and answering incoming phone calls for Cal Expo, directing inquiries to the appropriate department; utilize Pro-Core Management Software to create on-site floor plans and layout adjustments to ensure compliance with governmental fire and safety regulations. Respond promptly to event-related questions and requests received via phone, email, or in person, providing excellent customer service.
Prepare post-event recaps summarizing logistical successes, areas for improvement and key takeaways for future planning; accurately complete the Daily Checklist, and thoroughly document any operational issues. Ensure recaps are prepared for presentation and reviewed by Event Coordinators during the weekly operations meetings.

Working Conditions
You may be exposed to extreme temperatures, vehicle exhaust, airborne dust, fumes, vapors, chemicals, medical waste and blood borne pathogens, prolonged periods of standing, sitting kneeling, and intense physical activity, including lifting in excess of 25 pounds.
