Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a X-Ray Technologist, FGP - Riverhead.

In this role, the successful candidate, under the direction of a radiologist; operates radiologic equipment to produce clinical diagnostic images and performs routine diagnostic procedures according to established standards and practices.

Job Responsibilities:

• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Operates Radiology equipment to produce quality images as ordered/according to department protocols. Produces quality images for interpretation by the Radiologist.
• Prepares patient for exam using proper positioning/immobilization, and giving proper instructions throughout.
• Practices effective radiation protection in utilizing appropriate shielding devices when possible. Monitors exposure and follows department policy regarding pregnant patients.
• Proper and timely utilization of the PACs system allowing for Radiologist interpretation. Verifies all images are transferred to PACs in a timely matter.
• Accurate utilization of the Radiology Information Systems. Verifies proper exam was completed, amount of contrast (if used) is correct, and proper code is attached. Arrives and completes procedures in a timely fashion.
• Assists in the care and maintenance of the facilities, equipment, and supplies while abiding by WUH infection control policy and procedure. Maintains proper environment of care. Follows WUH infection control policy and procedure. Initiates Standard Precautions when required.
• Instructs and supervises Radiography students in clinical practicum. Works with Radiography students in completing exams. Performs QA image review with students.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a High School Diploma.
Associate's Degree or Certificate from an accredited School of Radiologic Technology.
New York State Radiologic Technology License.
New York State Radiologic Technology Permit can be accepted in lieu of receiving NYS License.
Must become registered before expiration of temporary permit Required.
Strong communication (both written and oral), problem solving, and customer service skills Required.
Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office Required.
Thorough knowledge of Radiography equipment Required..

Required Licenses: Radiologic Tech - Temp Permit, Radiologic TechLic IV-Cert-NYS, Radiologic Tech Lic - NYS

Preferred Qualifications:
1-2 years of Radiologic Technology experience Preferred.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $89,860.61 - $101,096.60 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
