Associate Chief Pharmacy Officer, Ambulatory Care Services

Our client, a national leader in high-quality healthcare since 1902, is looking for a strategic and results-oriented Associate Chief Pharmacy Officer (ACPO), Ambulatory Care Services to lead enterprise-wide ambulatory pharmacy services within a renowned medical center. This vital role is dedicated to improving patient outcomes and operational excellence across an expansive ambulatory portfolio, which includes specialty pharmacy, retail pharmacy, infusion services, and medication access.
The ACPO will work closely with executive leadership, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams to create innovative pharmacy models that meet the evolving needs of patient care and reimbursement structures. This position requires an onsite commitment to the Los Angeles, CA area.
Key ResponsibilitiesEnterprise Leadership & Strategy
- Provide executive oversight of all ambulatory pharmacy services.
- Lead operations for specialty pharmacy, retail pharmacy, and infusion services.
- Identify and initiate new pharmacy business opportunities to foster revenue growth.
- Enhance the clinical role of ambulatory care pharmacists for better disease management and patient outcomes.
- Oversee initiatives to optimize employee prescription benefit costs.
Clinical, Financial & Operational Excellence
- Ensure positive clinical, quality, safety, financial, and customer service outcomes.
- Lead supply chain strategy to maintain reliable access to medications.
- Oversee IT initiatives that improve operational efficiency.
- Ensure regulatory compliance and program integrity.
Stakeholder Engagement & Governance
- Build relationships with physicians and healthcare teams, and engage in medical center committees.
- Collaborate with pharmacy executive leadership to meet organizational goals.
- Lead human resources efforts for recruitment, performance management, and staff development.
- Support pharmacy education programs, including postgraduate education.
Education
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) is required.
- Master's Degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, or a related field is preferred.
Experience
- 10+ years of progressive pharmacy leadership experience is essential.
- 5+ years of experience in implementing pharmacy programs and services.
- Experience in ambulatory care, specialty pharmacy, or academic medical centers is highly preferred.
- Base Pay: $107.09 - $192.76 per hour
- Total Salary: $222,000 - $401,000 annually (based on a 40-hour work week)
