Director of Nursing Education

Leading New York City health system seeks a Director of Nursing Education to plan and implement Nursing Service Orientation and continuing education programs.
Responsibilities:
- In collaborates with the executive team, assess the nursing staff's educational needs.
- Designs annual educational offerings with realistic behavioral objectives based on assessed learner needs which are consistent with goals, objectives and standards of Nursing Service and accrediting/licensing organizations.
- Provide educational materials and care offerings to the nursing staff.
- Serve as a liaison to vendors providing in-service education on new equipment to be used in the clinical setting.
- Establishes and maintains an effective working relationship with Nursing Service staff and other departments.
- Participates as a team member in developing Nursing Service policies and procedures based on evidence, best practices, and expert communication.
- Maintains, reviews, and evaluates educational record keeping and reporting systems and modifies, as necessary.
- Acts as a trainer, facilitator, consultant, mentor, and supervisor to orientees.
- Coordinates student placements, orients students, and organized preceptorships for undergraduate and graduate students
- Disseminates knowledge and skills related to the role, patient population, clinical specialty and global or local health community healthcare needs.
- Communicates quantitative and qualitative information regarding the patient experience to the staff and the Interdisciplinary Patient Care Team.
- Participates in the ongoing and annual evaluation and performance improvement plans of employees and shares feedback with the Clinical Nurse Managers/Associate Directors/Directors and Senior Directors accordingly
- Registered Professional Nurse currently licensed in the State of New York.
- Master's Degree in Nursing Education
- A minimum of 2 years' experience in Nursing Education and/or Nursing Leadership
Salary: $160,000 - $180,000
